Edinburgh Trams:
At 9:15 a.m. we took a bus to the TIE (Transport Initiatives Edinburgh) headquarters to attend an informative presentation on the importants of the new Edinburgh tram system being developed today. The presentation was given by one of the project leaders who explained why the tram system will help the local economy, and she explained the specifics of the project such as pricing and schedules.

The presentation ended at 11:15 a.m. and we then traveled to 2 of the tram system jobsites. The first jobsite pertained to an impressive and complicated railway bridge that crossed a high-speed railway. The second stop was at Roseburn Junction where the railway was being placed under an existing road, and it was also the site of the tram maintenance building.

We left the 2nd jobsite at 12:30 p.m. and took the bus to eat lunch at The Railbridge Bistro in the village of South Queensferry, on the banks of the River Forth.

After lunch we took a bus to Scotland's new Parliament Building in Edinburgh which has been hailed as one of the most innovative designs in Britain today. From there we went back to New Arthurs Place at 4:30 p.m. to work on thesis.
